So I stopped outsourcing it and started building the system from scratch.

Years of obsessing over STR data — building my own analytics, underwriting models, and dashboards — eventually led to consulting work for STR software and data companies. That gave me an inside view of what elite operators actually do. Most of it isn't software. Most of it is judgment, built from reps.
